Colleyville Heritage Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff

Head Coach Stephen Hamrick

Stephen Hamrick just complete his fourteenth  season as the head basketball coach at Colleyville Heritage High School. Hamrick joined the CHHS family after spending three seasons as the head coach at Irving MacArthur High School.

In all, he has a combined twenty-six years of coaching experience, seven of those as an assistant at the collegiate level, four as an assistant at the high school level, and twelve as a head coach.

His first assistant stint came at West Texas A&M University, where he began to work as a graduate assistant under Coach Rick Cooper.

He then went on to Abilene Christian University, where he served as a graduate assistant for one season. After obtaining his masters degree, he then was promoted to an assistant coaching position.

Hamrick also had a stop at Colleyville Heritage from 2004-2008, where the Panthers won three out of four district championships, and made a regional tournament appearance. Coach Hamrick served as an assistant to Coach Greg Gober and also coached the junior varsity team.

A native of Canyon, Texas, Hamrick was an all-state guard that played at Canyon High School for his father, Dan. He later went on to play at Eastern New Mexico University where he was a four-year letter winner for Coach Earl Diddle from 1992-1996.
Hamrick is the career recorder holder for three pointers made in the Lone Star Conference.

He is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University and is also a member of the ENMU Athletic Hall of Honor. He has a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s degree in education from Abilene Christian University.

Hamrick is married to Loren, and they have two children, Olivia, and Claire.
