Colleyville Heritage Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff
Coach Stephen Hamrick
Stephen Hamrick has just completed his fourth season as the head basketball coach at Colleyville Heritage High School. Hamrick joined the CHHS family after spending three seasons as the head coach at Irving MacArthur High School, where he made two out of three play-off appearances and had two back to back twenty win seasons.
In all, he has a combined 18 years of coaching experience, seven of those as an assistant at the collegiate level, four as an assistant at the high school level, and seven as a head coach.
His first assistant stint came at West Texas A&M University, where he began to work as a graduate assistant under Coach Rick Cooper.
He then went on to Abilene Christian University, where he served as a graduate assistant for one season. After obtaining his masters degree, he then was promoted to an assistant coaching position.
Hamrick also had a stop at Colleyville Heritage from 2004-2008, where the Panthers won three out of four district championships, and made a regional tournament appearance. Coach Hamrick served as an assistant to Coach Greg Gober and also coached the junior varsity team.
A native of Canyon, Texas, Hamrick was an all-state guard that played at Canyon High School for his father, Dan. He later went onto play at Eastern New Mexico University where he was a four-year letter winner for Coach Earl Diddle from 1992-1996. Hamrick is the career recorder holder for three pointers made in the Lone Star Conference.
He is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University and is also a member of the ENMU Athletic Hall of Honor. He has a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s degree in education from Abilene Christian University.
Hamrick is married to Loren, and they have two children, Olivia, 7, and Claire, 4.
Coach Patrick Nobles
Coach Patrick Nobles is in his 26th year of coaching and his ninth year at CHHS. Prior to his coaching at CHHS he spent five years at Livingston High School , the last three years as head coach. While the head coach at Livingston his teams reached the state play-offs twice. Coach Nobles is a graduate of Midwestern State University with a B.S. in Education. He is a varsity assistant coach. Coach Nobles also coaches girls softball and teaches Economics.
Coach Nobles has two boys, Jack 16 and Luke 14.
Coach Zeke Battenfield
Coach Zeke Battenfield coaches the Panthers Junior Varsity and is in his 18th year as a teacher and coach. Before coming to CHHS he was at Northwest High School for four years and Head Coach at Diamond Hill- Jarvis from 1998-2003.
He played and graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo, Texas. After graduation from high school he played at Eastern New Mexico University as well as at Western Oklahoma State College.
Coach Battenfield received his B.A in history from Texas Tech University in 1997. He teaches PAP United States History and also coaches Cross Country.
